Historic Church Property in the Old Northeast Neighborhood

A one-hundred-year-old church and it’s property in the desirable Old Northeast neighborhood in St Petersburg has been sold. The Westminster Presbyterian Church, consisting of two parcels of land, one with the church property and the other a separate parking lot across the alley to the south, has been sold by Patrick & Chris Calhoon of the Calhoon Commercial Group of Smith & Associates Commerical Real Estate

The property, owned by The Presbytery of Tampa Bay, Inc., encompasses 7 lots on a little over 1 acre of land in the Old Northeast. The building had a Landmark Historic Designation placed on it by the City of St Petersburg in early 2020 which prohibited any demolition of the structure but did provide for certain adaptive reuses. The Presbytery concluded its ministry at the property four years ago.

“The location and size of this property presented an incredible opportunity for a visionary buyer. It has the potential for conversion to upscale multi-family or condominium units in the heart of one of St. Petersburg’s most sought after areas and is just a short distance to downtown St. Pete,” says Patrick Calhoon.

Working as transaction brokers with both parties, the Calhoons were pleased to complete the sale for the Sellers, who stated in a past release, “Proceeds from the sale of this beautiful property will be used to strengthen existing ministries and explore new ways to meet the needs of the community.”

The Buyer, 126 11th Acquisitions, LLC, does not have any specific plans for renovations at this time, but is working on a few different ideas. Located at 126 11th Ave NE, the purchase price was $ 1,475,000.
