In recent years, this neighborhood has become the focus of redevelopment efforts. Good things are happening in Tampa’s oldest suburb. The Gonzmart family, famous for their Columbia Restaurants, brought Tampa Heights to the headlines with their award-winning restaurant, Ulele. Around the same time, former Mayor Bob Buckhorn and community leaders opened the new Water Works Park and the Armature Works houses restaurants of all genres, including a James Beard award-winning restaurant.
