Smith & Associates Real Estate has spent decades supporting residents, businesses, and nonprofits in the Tampa Bay region. The firm has helped so many locals find their first home, their dream home, or a nice place to set roots in this growing area. In addition to being the hypotenuse for buyers and sellers, the agents and team at Smith are committed to supporting the helpers in the cities they represent. With the Smith & Associates Real Estate Foundation launch in the Spring of 2021, the organization further cemented its commitment to giving back to the neighborhoods they serve. In March of 2022, the Foundation opened an online submission to identify non-profits that aligned with the company’s established philanthropy pillars. After careful review, the Foundation announced that 28 local non-profits will receive a combined total of $150,000 through annual or multi-year grants.

“We are excited to announce our non-profit investments and look forward to establishing impactful partnerships that will uplift diversity, well-being, and access. Our organization and the people who work at Smith are dedicated to investing not just funding but also our time and resources into a community that we deeply care about,” says Bob Glaser, President & CEO, Smith & Associates Real Estate.

Giving is in Smith & Associates' DNA

This seamless stream of giving was established through a relationship with the Community Foundation of Tampa Bay. Smith & Associates is further committed to activating its team with opportunities to participate in philanthropic endeavors. Smith’s community giving program is designed to build strong partnerships with non-profit organizations, civic organizations, and other local organizations striving to make a difference, focusing on three elements: Housing, Community Vibrancy, and Positive Education/Mental Well-Being.

“The Tampa Arts Alliance is proud to have been the first organization supported by the Smith & Associates Real Estate Foundation fund. The commitment embodied by the founders of this foundation gives steady footing to our arts organization dedicated to making Tampa known as a city of arts excellence. The grant has allowed the building of a solid infrastructure within our operations so that projects can be executed with efficiency and produced with quality,” said Tampa Arts Alliance Executive Director Michele Smith.

Smith awarded the nonprofit grants at the Arts & Crafts Museum in St. Petersburg, FL. At the event, the company also recognized David Moyer, Smith’s Director of Sales Developer Services, with their coveted Mary Conover Community Service Award. For the past nine years, Moyer has served as President of 13 Ugly Men, a nonprofit that has donated over $2 million to Tampa Bay charities with the intent to throw large-scale events to benefit local charities.

50 years of giving in the Tampa Bay region

Under his leadership, Moyer raised the standards at the nonprofit to now donate over $100,000 annually to local charities. In addition, private donations ensure that 100% of the proceeds from the 13 Ugly Men events reach those in need.

Dave also is an active member of the Greater Tampa Association of Realtors and serves the Tampa Theatre as a committee member for their wine fest fundraising event. “Success is measured by more than sales at Smith,” says Glaser. Adding, “Dave is a true leader with a generosity of his time and resources, which we want to acknowledge.”
