In 2000, lifelong friends Connie Lancaster and Cynthia Serra decided to combine their love of real estate and their passion for restoring old homes and formed The Platinum Group.
Originally from South Carolina, Connie has been a resident of St. Petersburg’s Historic Old Northeast for over 30 years. Even though she spent over 20 years selling high-end European automobiles, her true passion was in real estate. “I have invested in a number of properties over the years and have a lot of investment experience from new construction to historic homes, multi-family properties including condo conversions, and have taken advantage of 1031 exchanges." In other words, she lives and breathes real estate!
Cynthia also hails from South Carolina. Her love of real estate started when she too moved to the Historic Old Northeast and purchased a bungalow, which she lovingly restored. Her expertise in that area quickly had friends asking her for advice and led to other restoration projects. Her love of St. Petersburg could only be matched by her love of The Great Smoky Mountains of North Carolina, where she graduated with a Masters in Education from Appalachian State. Her love of both led her to also get her North Carolina real estate license so she can continue to represent real estate clients in two beautiful and unique places.
In 2014, Dan Casper was added to the team. Dan, a midwesterner all his life, moved from Chicago with his husband and quickly fell in love with St. Pete and everything that Tampa Bay has to offer. With over 20 years in the interior design industry, it was a natural fit for Dan with the team. His ability to walk buyers through a home and help them visualize its potential with first time home buyers as well as seasoned ones. Dan has an eye for detail when it comes to listings, as several of his previous projects have been featured in various nation design magazines.
Together, as full time Realtors, they have combined their talents from their multiple fields of expertise and formed a team focused on client satisfaction. That is evident as the majority of their business is from referrals from previous home buyers and sellers. Their extensive knowledge on market trends, first time home buyers, 1031 exchanges, new construction, second home and condos, to name a few, showcases their ability to adapt and work within every aspect of the real estate industry and the curve balls it may throw.
