Born and raised in southern California, Nick spent an idyllic childhood surfing local beaches and competing extremely unsuccessfully with a young Tiger Woods on the golf course. Spurred by a burning interest in politics and public service, he traveled to the state capital to attend California State University Sacramento, earning a bachelor’s degree in Government and (more importantly) meeting Karen, his wife, and fellow Smith and Associates agent.
Nick and Karen’s young marriage was upended by the events of 9/11. Feeling compelled to serve, Nick joined the Army, where he served multiple tours in Iraq and Afghanistan. Over the next two decades, they moved their family all over the world, with Nick finishing his career at MacDill Air Force Base as a strategic planner.
After a 20-year Army career, Nick understands the challenges of moving better than most. Relocating more than a dozen times, he saw firsthand how a good agent could minimize stress, provide clarity, and even make the process fun! Now that he’s a REALTOR®, he’s made it his mission to do the same for his clients.
When working with buyers, Nick’s primary objective is to ensure they have all the time and information they need to make the right decision for them. He empowers buyers with the tools to do their research and encourages them not to rush into buying until they feel comfortable with their decision. When working with sellers, Nick prides himself on providing detailed analysis to arm the sellers with the best data available to decide on a price. He also makes sure the home is “show ready” by Day 1 of the listing. By gently giving honest feedback, Nick does whatever he can to help the seller prepare the house and makes sure that no detail is overlooked when it hits the market.
