Becky attended Washington State University majoring in Business Management and Sociology. She began her career with a small independent real estate office in Washington state. She later decided to cross the US, typical of her competitive spirit, and relocate to Tampa, Florida. This good fortune landed her an important position at Smith and Associates Real Estate as an Administrator which quickly transitioned into the Marketing Department where she would soon become its’ Director. This position proved to identify her strong marketing talent as she became an integral part of the Re-Branding of Smith and Associates, a move that catapulted a resurgence of the company in the market.
Becky became an advisor to the real estate agents within the organization as the expert on how to successfully market their properties online, in print media, and with direct mail, resulting in success for the company.
After 5 years as Marketing Director, Becky transitioned into general real estate in 2009. Becky Slocum’s experience with contract negotiations as well as her ability to correctly position properties in the market allowed her to become a top-selling agent in the company and consistently ranks her in the top 5% of Realtors in Hillsborough County. Becky’s knowledge, energy, and incredible computer skills have been the core of her success as she stays one step ahead in the technology arena….a win for her clients. Outside of Real Estate Becky is heavily involved with her daughter's school as well as the American Red Cross volunteering with Services to the Armed Forces and is a leader for the Disaster Action Team responding to home fires and natural disasters in the middle of the night to provide assistance to those in our community who need it most. Becky is also an active member of Roland Park IB World School’s PTSA board. When Becky is not working or volunteering she enjoys traveling, collecting and admiring Mid-Century Modern furniture, and spending time with her husband Jason and their daughter Hazel.
